Dream Ridge
High Mountain Drama
Round pine logs uphold the bones of this time-honored cabin nestled slope-side in the hills of Utah. The eye-drawing heart of this home is our design of the 7’ wide open mouth fireplace leading to vistas of the Wasatch Mountain Dream Ridge landmark. Crude limestone and granite boulders elevate a sense of history. Weathered white oak paired with rich walnut interior doors create the framework for this ode to Ralph Lauren style embodying the client’s vision for their home.
Honored to draw from my traditional east-coast sensibilities, this project fueled my resurgent desire for color and the mixing of patterns. The land itself seemed to place demands of its own asking for the home to deliver a sense of "lived in”, creating an heirloom genre, with deep turqoise, bar harbor blues, toasted chestnut hides contrasting formal vintage Heriz rugs layered to create an informal mountain classic lifestyle.
