Cottonwood

Light, Space, and Craft

AMB is responsible for both the exterior and interior palette and composition of this modern home, located down a narrow wooded lane. Sand tones of Indiana limestone serve as a contrast to the dark wire-brushed arroyo siding. Bespoke furnishings, along with a myriad of earthen wool textures and leathered quartzite countertops, contribute to the warm touch this home exudes. The serene, grand proportions of the 14-foot tall glass windows with open glass corners bring the sought-after light-filled, welcoming atmosphere to the fullest in this sprawling open floor plan.

The entrance features a unique composition of hanging brass strands of the Lariat light fixture by Apparatus. Essential to the exterior’s peek inside is a sprawling steel staircase layered with 4-inch slices of natural white oak, providing an evocative focal point and access to the upper floor. With a direct view through the dining room to the family pool, the wall of glass can be opened in its entirety. An impressive bronze pendant, hanging 30 feet long, creates a recipe of curiosity and reflective energy, making a substantial statement adjacent to the steel-clad fireplace centerpiece of the great room.

The restful main floor primary bedroom becomes a respite for this couple seeking to move into a home that welcomes family gatherings and relaxed open-style living.
