Spacious Living

Designing a free-standing bar with fine brass details and warm walnut for both the bar front and open shelving was the first step in this 1980’s remodel. It serves as the centerpiece of the open floor plan home, constructed with glass and steel. The new grand living space now offers expansive sunset views, complemented by oversized seating and soft, layered natural wool rugs. To meet the scale of this space, a new mason-lite fireplace open on three sides was added, featuring a unique wooden sculptural motif as the ascending mantelpiece. Adding these details was essential to grounding the voluminous space and making it more livable. The choice of materials intentionally welcomes the natural surroundings on the hills of Mount Olympus.
